How long does plated jewelry last?
Plated jewelry is not meant for everyday wear. Water, oily skin, sweat, etc. can allow the plating to fade. If you want to wear your jewelry everyday please purchase jewelry that is made of stainless steel, 14k gold filled, sterling silver or solid brass. Sterling silver and brass jewelry can still tarnish but can easily be cleaned and polished.

How do I measure my wrist for custom bracelet sizing?
The best way to measure your wrist is with a fabric tape measure. The measurement should be taken at the smallest part of the wrist between the hand and wrist bone. If you don't have a fabric tape measure, you can use string and a ruler. You will need to wrap the string around your wrist and measure it. After you measure it, cut it to the length you measured. Wrap it around again and make sure that it is a perfect (not loose) fit. If it is loose and overlaps, cut again and double check, then send us the final measurement.
How do I figure out my morse code request?
Figuring out morse code is very simple, just check out our chart here. Please be aware that morse code usually is more than just one character per letter or number. This leaves your request to be fairly small - for examples just initials or a small word or name - depending on the size of the piece of jewelry. Please check the items description for more details.
It is important to us that our products maintain their quality throughout the years. Clean your Modern Out products as often as needed using a polishing cloth to reduce tarnishing in order to ensure that your item is kept in it's best condition.
Due to the nature of raw brass, bronze, and copper used for our chains and other components, you may see slight variations in the color on particular styles. Keep in mind that due to the personal pH levels of an individual’s skin, jewelry may tarnish more quickly for some than for others. This is out of our control.
Since exposure to air can also oxidize jewelry, we recommend storing items from Modern Out in a cotton pouch or plastic bag rather than leaving them fully exposed to the air.
Avoid excessive exposure to water and sunlight. We recommend removing your jewelry before washing dishes, showering, swimming, working out, etc. These activities can quicken the discoloration of plated chains. To avoid plated jewelry make sure to upgrade to stainless steel if the option is available.
All leather accessories should never be exposed to sweat or water.
Please do not spray on cologne/perfume when wearing your jewelry. If you intend to wear cologne/perfume, wait for it to totally dry before putting on your jewelry.
Some people who are known to have acidic skin may cause brass accessories to oxidize/darken. If one is acidic in body chemistry, please do not wear your brass jewelry against bare skin or expose the pieces to sweat.
It is best to not immerse the jewelry in chemically treated jewelry cleaner. To clean the jewelry from time to time, immerse the pieces in a mild detergent followed by rinsing with water and patting dry with a soft cloth.
If you live close to saltwater, know that this can also cause your jewelry to darken.
Please note that Modern Out will not be held responsible for any damages that may occur by foregoing the above recommendations.
