Five Nifty Things I Use Everyday

Whenever you google the meaning for the slang word "nifty" you come across a mixture of results like "stylish and smart" or "very pleasant and enjoyable" -- and well, that's exactly what nifty means to me.

I am a person who loves things. No matter what the thing is, if I find use for it in my everyday life, I think it's nifty. So I decided to stray away from the daily "business" post and share the things I like from other businesses.

....................

ONE

I really dig this new Prospect Briefcase from Ugmonk. I really enjoy what Jeff curates over there. I actually got this blog idea from him. I use this bag daily and I switched from my Andar Manhattan Backpack because I am already carrying a diaper backpack for my 9 month old, so the Ugmonk Prospect Briefcase is nice to be able to wear to the side for work and another backpack on my back all at once for the kiddo - all while carrying a carseat. #superdad

TWO

Speaking of Ugmonk, I really dig their Discbound Heirloom Journal -- when you own your own business, pen and paper can never go out of style. Because I work inside my office and half the day at home (being a new dad and all) I really have to write down things I need to get accomplished, inventory I have to make, and so on. Apple Notes is handy just incase I leave the Journal at the office, but there's something about hand writing the tasks down that you need to get done that really works -- and it also helps that it's stylish as fuck. I also transfers the important things for "today" to the Analog system on my desk at the office.

THREE

While we are on the subject of writing down things to do, one of my favorite pens is the Nomad Pen in black. I have never been the type of person to spend a lot of money on a pen but when you use something every single day, many times a day, you want that something to be well made and nice to use. Anytime I am without this pen, I frown at my handwriting. Somehow the Nomad Pen just makes my handwriting better. I can't explain it. Worth the $50. They also have a $100 titanium version which I have yet to try. If you've tried it, let me know how you like it.

FOUR

I am a person that has to have lip balm on me at all times. It's a must. I apply it at least a dozen times a day. I am sort of a lip balm snob -- so that means I have been through many brands and I found a couple that stuck. I really like the Cedar & Citrus Lip Salve from Aesop. It's pricey for lip balm but this stuff really works. When you don't have to think about your lips feeling uncomfortable, it's worth it. I also use the Lip Game from Fitish. I've used this CBD lip balm for 3 years now and it's the best to put on right after a shower or cake it on when you're going to bed.

FIVE

And last, I really love this Boost Charging Dock by Belkin. Ever since I started using it on my bed side 6 months ago, I can't seem to live without it. I am one who loves the MagSafe charging feature for the iPhone, I don't like plugging in my phone anymore, so this charging dock is perfect. I also cannot live without my Apple Watch so this being two-in-one really helps -- it's high quality and approved by Apple. I mean, they even sell it themselves.
